Paul Aspinwall '64

Paul C Aspinwall, Lambda 417, is the son of Robert A Aspinwall, Lambda 32, and the brother of Robert M Aspinwall, Lambda 268; all three grew up in Fort Atkinson, WI. He pledged Lambda in 1q1961 and was initiated in October 1961 followed by breakfast at a 24-hour Waffle House on State Street. Paul was Grammateus and Epiprytanis at Lambda, and also Rush Chairman and Vice-President for the Interfraternity Council at University of Wisconsin, Madison, graduating with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1964.

Paul was a US Army Intelligence Officer for three years, serving in Sinop, Turkey; Bangkok, Thailand; and Clark Field in the Philippines after training at Fort Benning, GA and Fort Devens, MA. In September 1967, he joined IBM in Washington, DC and served as a TKE Province supervisor for DC, MD, and VA for a couple years. With IBM, Paul worked in the DC area and Poughkeepsie, NY, and Stamford, CT for 31 years, before returning to Wisconsin in December 1998. He continued with IBM until June 2016 (over 48 years in total).

While in Stamford, CT, Paul earned an M.S. in Telecommunications and Computer Management from Polytechnic University (part of NYU now). He also taught Project Management classes at Polytechnic University. In 1998, he co-authored a chapter in Business Engineering on IBM’s product development process reengineering experience.

Paul joined the TKE Foundation Business Council and currently is on the TKE Foundation Board. In 2018, he was named to the TKE Circle of Excellence in 2017.

Paul is the father of two daughters, Amy and April, and a son, Adam, and has two grandsons, Aidan and Asher; he is married to Bonnie Bruce.
